Tuesday Ten

10. Low Sodium, Spicy V8: I drink a glass of this every night with my dinner, my friends call me an old lady for it, but I love that it gives me a serving of vegetables and vitamins. It's pretty tasty too and makes a great Bloody Mary

9. Aveda's Madder Root conditioner-this is great for adding a boost to your red hair..whether your hair is natural or dyed. I love it because it makes my hair shiny and really brings out the red that I put in it. It's all natural, so it doesn't damage your hair either!
8. White Barn Aromatherapy Candles-I burn candles all the time in my apartment...since it's so small, any cooking odor can take it over. These candles are strong enough to keep my apartment smelling great without being too over powering.

7. Have yall tried Cupcake's Sauvignon Blanc? SO delicious!

6. The Summer Set's cover of Kiss's Rock and Roll All Nite...seriously, listen...Brian Dales' voice...love love love it

5. Hungry Girl's Boston Cream Cupcakes
I am seriously in love with these cupcakes..at only 114 calories, they are the perfect dessert and won't ruin your healthy eating habits or put a day to waste

4. These making getting vitamin C easy...i get sick so easily at times, but at least I know I won't be forgetting my vitamin C with these!

3. I ordered this waterbottle from EarthLust and I carry it with me every day...I have a 30 minute drive to work and I try to finish one by the time I get to work...I also use it at the gym and when I run errands...I love the design on it too!

2. Day Glo sneakers and an iPod make my perfect workout...I can go from machine to machine to a floor work out...the music keeps me going and the shoes are just fun...definitely makes my daily work outs more exciting

This makes such a filling sandwich...I've had it every few days for lunch for the past few weeks and it is delicious!

Motivation Monday

So I wrote about my big health push and never followed up...that's cool...well I'm glad to say that I have kept my commitment to myself for the past two weeks. I've been eating healthy, trying to work out 5-6 times a week (30 minutes of cardio at the least...) it's been wiping me out, but I think that I have just gotten used to being lazy and it's hard to break that habit. So far, I have lost 2 lbs...and I'm totally okay with the slow train...I'd rather do this slowly and steadily and make sure that I'm doing this for good, not just for now...

My lunches at work are usually a salad and a sandwich that I bring from home. Lately, I've been enjoying Hungry Girl's Totally Nuts Creamy Chicken Salad sandwiches, as well as slice deli turkey.

My only issue right now is getting enough sleep...I just don't feel like there are enough hours in the day...hopefully I can do some readjusting and fix that

Shoegasm!

I'm seriously wondering if they make men's boots small enough to fit my feet-two more pairs of men's Lucchese's that I rock in a heart beat.

Shoegasm!

I know these are men's boots, but I really like the style and color...They're not traditional boots, but they're fun!

This one is a little more traditional-still a Men's pair, but still cute; I would definitely wear them

My Quest for Fitspiration...

it all started when i checked out trainhardeatclean’s tumblr yesterday…I have really not had the best January and beginning to February and I have not been motivated at all to work out…even though I’ve been going pretty regularly. Anyway, her blog just really turned something on inside me…and now I’m back, motivated, and ready to get healthy and lose my weight…

I found the myfitnesspal app on my iphone and I’m kind of obsessed with it now..it has a crazy awesome food database (literally, the recipes that I get from websites and magazines…they’re in this database…SO easy to track!!) you can track your fitness too and track with friends…and you can do it on your computer if you don’t have a smartphone-so obviously if you’re already on myfitnesspal or want to join me and motivate each other, let me know! my username is kissmyash0600

so here’s the real talk:

I weigh 172 right now…again…what.the.fuck, that’s not cool for being 5 foot 3 and a Jew….it’s not my all time high (thank goodness) and I don’t look like I weigh that much, but who knows when it will all catch up and I will look like that? I really don’t want to know, so I’m restarting my weight loss journey…I need to stay motivated because I know I can do this…and I want it so badly

My goal right now is to lose 2 lbs by this coming Monday.

Today, I ate super healthy (which I’m glad is pretty normal for me), and I did week 5, day 1 of the couch to 5K work out…

I’m feeling good, work was alright, but I’m glad to be home and relaxing…and having dinner :D

Hope everyone else had a great day…and if anyone else is looking for motivation or fitspiration, has any to share, or wants to join me on myfitnesspal or the path to being healthy, let me know!

Shoegasm!

Another fun pair of Lucchesse's...i love the distressed, worn in look of these boots. They would be a great compliment to a soft sundress...too bad they're a men's pair.

These booties are so bright and fun...I also love the bow detail. These would be so cute with a pair of well fitted jeans. LOVE them!

The Commissary

A lot of really cute and trendy restaurants have been popping up all over Dallas. The Commissary is an upscale burger and wine bistro. It has a very light, fun, and casual atmoshpere; it would be a great place to go on a date or just with your friends when you're looking for something upscale but casual and relaxed. They have a great wine selection and they also make their own fresh sangrias and other fruit infused wines. It's a great place for young professionals to go and unwind after work.

Aside from their wine, their menu includes a burger bar with signature burgers, each with their own taste, including vegetarian options. They have a great selection of fries including disco fries, avocado fries, and sweet potato fries. Large plates such as pastas, lamb chops, and salmon are available for dinner. Their salad and appetizer menus are unique and tasty too.

This is a place that I plan to frequent more often. I was very impressed with it when I first went there. The pricing is something that you would expect from such a restaurant, but may not be the best place to go if you're on a stricter budget. I had a great time when I was there; their waitors and waitresses are very friendly and the food is really good.

Check out the rest of The Commissary's menu and get their address here

Israel: Borders, Ruins, Hot Springs

One of my favorite things that we did on this trip to Israel (even though I sprained my ankle) was when we took a jeep ride to the Israel-Jordan border. We drove through lush green hills, dotted with beautiful flowers and trees. It's almost painful to think of how much bloodshed and conflict has occurred on and around this border. Once we got to our destination; a beautiful overlook, we had lunch, made tea with fresh picked lemon grass and herbs, and got to walk around and see the beauty of the land.

Later that day, we visited the ruins of a Roman city called Beit Shean. It was once a thriving city at the peak of Roman culture and trends until it was destroyed by an earthquake in 749 CE. Walking around the city, you could really see how it functioned and how it was planned. From bathhouses to shop stalls, to forums, to homes, it was not difficult at all to see how a vibrant Roman city worked.

We then visited the Sachne pools. The Sachne pools are natural pools fed by hot springs at Gan Hashlosha National Park. We got to take a break and go swimming for a while. The pools are a great place to go with family and friends, relax and have a picnic.

Shoegasm!

I really love wooden and leather wedges for fall and spring looks

These booties make basic look pretty fierce. I would love to rock these with jeans and a sexy top
